Kate Knight: Farmington Downtown Development Authority
Our guest for lunch tomorrow will be Kate Knight, Executive Director of the Farmington DDA. Downtown Farmington has experienced a resurgence in activity over the past decade, with two major street scape projects, several major facade renovations and attraction of new businesses and housing projects. The DDA's Main Street Program has been accredited by the National Main Street Center for its 14th straight year in 2020. Kate is integrally involved in capital projects, downtown physical design and maintenance, volunteer management, market analysis, business development and attraction, property development, public relations and more. Work to update the Downtown Master Plan has just been completed, which will set the stage for the next phase of development.
Kate received her BA in Design from Michigan State University and holds a Master of Urban Planning, with specialization in Community Development from Wayne State University.
Xemplars attending the luncheon tomorrow will find free parking kindly provided in the downtown Heeney Sundquist lot to the north of Cowley's Pub. See you there!
