Our Next Event

Our guest for lunch this week was Kathleen Klein from Waste Management. She shared with us some of the remarkable statistics about theirenvironmental programs. Waste Management uses waste to create enough energy to power more than 1 million homes every year, and managed more than 7 million tons of recyclable commodities. By 2020, they expect to double that output, creating enough energy to power more than 2 million homes, and managing more than 20 million tons of recyclable commodities. Waste Management has over 70 Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) certified sites, with a total of 24,000 protected acres. They pride themselves on partnering with their customers and communities to manage and reduce waste from collection to disposal, while recovering valuable resources and creating clean, renewable energy. The facility located in Redofrd is currently building a gas transimssion line to peovide power to the nearby Ford assembly plant.
